I would like everyone's opinion on the proposed expansion of Project Greenlight.
For those who aren't already aware, since January of 2016 more than 500 businesses in Detroit have voluntarily installed high-definition video cameras on their property that are monitored by the Detroit Police Department. This program was expanded to include such cameras in public housing facilities last year.
There is now a plan to expand it again to include cameras on our traffic lights. Some people believe this is an unnecessary intrusion into our privacy. Other residents counter that it helps the police and lowers crime.
I would like to know how my readers feel about this. I've posted a survey form below. I also have a similar one on Facebook. I look forward to hearing thoughts from all of my readers.
With that said, do you support Project Greenlight as it currently is? How do you feel about expanding it to include video cameras on traffic lights?
Please let me know what your thoughts are. I'll report the results from these polls in another week.
