Best place to get Halloweeen candy cheap

As of today, Halloween is only 10 days away. It won’t be long before trick-or-treaters swarm through our neighborhood streets in their annual extravaganza of candy-induced spookiness.

If you’re ready for the trick-or-treaters and Halloween in general than, well, congratulations. You are better than me.

I’m the guy, after all, who finished his Christmas shopping at 6 p.m. on December 24th last year.

Anyway, while I’m not normally Mr. Super Well-Prepared for the Holidays, there is one tip that I have to share that might be helpful for some folks. You can get some really good deals on Halloween candy online.

For example, I found a carton of 150 fun-sized packs of M&M’s over on Amazon for prices starting at $21.59. Plus, if you order multiple cartons, you can get that candy for as cheap as $19.59 per carton.

This is a much better deal on Halloween candy than I have seen in any of the grocery stores or even the bulk food stores.

This will give me 150 packs of M&M’s candy for the neighborhood kids plus another 150-300 of them for me to eat over the next few weeks. Because when you can get Halloween candy this cheap, it’s insane not to get some for yourself as well.

And if you don’t like M&M’s then there’s a lot of other great deals on bulk candy online as well. You can get Swedish Fish, Jolly Ranchers, Tootsie Rolls, and an assortment of other cheap Halloween candy that doesn’t taste cheap.

Plus, if you place your order today you can still get your cheap candy delivered to your home in plenty of time for Halloween.

Rouge Park offers 2 for 1 golf special for Detroit residents

From now until October 13, residents of Detroit can enjoy 2 for 1 golfing at the Rouge Park Golf Course (11701 Burt Rd.). This offer is valid anytime except weekends before noon and includes both cart and green fees.

This is a great opportunity to explore the Rouge Park Golf Course, which is one of the great underappreciated gems of the Warrendale area and Detroit as a whole. There is also a similar deal at Chandler Park Golf Course for eastside neighbors.

In order to collect on this offer, Detroiters will have to present their drivers license or government-issued identification to confirm their residency. Only one of the two golfers needs to be a city resident for both to enjoy this 2 for 1 special.

For those who don't live in the city of Detroit, don't worry. The Rouge Park Golf Course has you covered as well. There is a $5 off coupon that is available on their website for our suburban neighbors.

I know it's an incredible long shot for me to convice Paige Spiranac to join me on a golf outing. However, she has retired from professional golf and she did say how much she enjoyed visiting Detroit this past summer.

I know, long shot but a man can dream. Until then, I still have my discount on cart and green fees.

Getting a discount on Amazon Prime

There are, unfortunately, more than a few low-income households within the Warrendale neighborhood and in the rest of the city of Detroit. I was excited, therefore, to learn that Amazon has rolled out a new program whereby anyone who gets either Medicaid or food stamps can also get a discounted membership on Amazon Prime.

This discount enables low-income households to save on everything from clothes, diapers, furniture, and everything else that Amazon currently sells. (Sidenote: I'm old enough to remember when Amazon only sold books. These days, it's hard to think of any legitimate product that they don't sell.)

Amazon is already the go-to online shopping destination for upper-income households. This discount program is part of the company's strategy to pull lower-income shoppers away from their main competitor, which is Walmart.

Prospective shoppers should simply sign up by clicking here to get their discounted membership in Amazon Prime and start saving money.
